I just found out that I have been nominated for a 2008 WAMI award in the Gospel/Christian performer category......stay tuned :)
The Songwriters of Wisconsin International awarded me 5th place in the Christian/ Gospel category for my song "Sculptor's Hands" in their 2007 songwriting competition. 55 judges from around the world listened to hundreds of songs submitted.
I am scheduling the final release date of my CD " Closer to the Ground" for June 26, 2007. That date is special to me, as it is 15 years ago that my mom Mary Lou passed from this earth and was born to eternal life...........she loved my music, mostly instrumental at the time. She always requested me to write something with words. Here you go Mom!
Everything is finalized and mastered!! The only thing left is to get the CD's printed, and replicated!!!!!!!!
Almost finished mixing and the date has been set to have the CD mastered!!!! The end is in sight, and it is sounding very cool.... stay tuned!
Finally in the final mixing stages.... hopefully by May this thing will be ready to go!
On Friday, Joe and I got background vocals complete on two more tunes, leaving only one more. Tonight we are adding pedal steel guitar to one song, then instruments are all done! We will start scheduling mix sessions this week!!
Today we are putting percussion tracks down on a few tunes........
This week, Gail presented a cover design that is awesome! We also got some great photos taken from John Bryan, who agreed to take on the arduous task of working with me in getting the perfect shot when I had no idea what that was!
Today Grace came in and worked out background vocals, actually creating a choir with overdubs......what an amazing result!
Joe and I worked out the backgrounds for one song today...........
Grace Weber came in to the studio and lended her incredible voice for background vocals. WOW!!
Joe Puerta and I worked on background vocals for about 5 hours today, and managed to get through one and a half songs
Today we are going to record some more guitar tracks, with Keith Pulvermacher. We were working with Keith last week and got 3 songs done, and hope to get at least that today. After the guitar tracks are finished, there are just a few songs left to record background vocals, and maybe a few misc tracks and then we can start to mix everything, which initself is an arduous task. But it is sounding awesome, and worth the effort!
